About Scouts

Scouts is about having fun while gaining value leadership skills and self-confidence. Scouts enjoy outdoor adventures like mountain biking, rock climbing and lots of camping while working together with other young people to accomplish thrilling challenges.

Scouting gives every member a chance to be a leader. It might involve running an activity, organizing a camp, or participating with other young people across your province or Canada in a youth forum.

The Scout motto is "Be Prepared". Some of the trips that the 21st Waterloo Scout Troop have recently done include:

  • Two week adventure in Iceland, including attending the 100th Anniversary Scout Jamboree in Iceland.  While in Iceland, the troop also went caving, mountain biking, hiking, horse back riding, whale watching and soaking in geothermal hot springs.
  • Mountain biking
  • Survivor camp
  • Week long trip to New York City
  • Overnight Canoe trips
  • Attendance at the Wings International Scout Jamboree at Windsor castle in England with 5000 other scouts
