The safety of the 21st Waterloo children and youth is of primary importance to us. We follow all Scouts Canada practices to ensure we are doing everything possible to ensure a safe and healthy environment for your children, including:
- A rigorous recruiting process for new leaders that involves a written application, an interview, reference checks and a Police Record Check for working with the vulnerable sector.
- Mandatory volunteer training, both for program operation and for safe practices.
- A 2-deep policy: there will always be 2 registered leaders present when dealing with the youth.
- An adult:youth ratio of 1:5 for Beavers and 1:6 for Cubs, Scouts and Venturers.
